FAQs

Clarifying the details for you.

FAQSEverything you need to know, right here.

1. What can I expect during my first session?

Your first session is a safe space to share your concerns, ask questions, and understand how therapy works. We begin by discussing your reasons for seeking counselling, your background, and any specific challenges you’re facing. This session helps us get to know each other and determine the best approach for your needs. There’s no pressure to share everything at once—you set the pace. By the end of the session, we will outline possible goals and next steps for your journey.

2. What will we discuss in therapy?

Every therapy session is unique and tailored to your concerns. We may discuss your emotions, relationships, stressors, past experiences, coping mechanisms, or anything else impacting your well-being. The goal is to explore your thoughts and feelings in a nonjudgmental space, helping you gain clarity and develop healthier patterns. Sessions are always guided by what feels comfortable and relevant to you.

3. How do I know if therapy will help me?

Therapy can be beneficial for anyone facing emotional, psychological, or life challenges. It provides support, coping strategies, and a fresh perspective. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or struggling with personal or professional issues, therapy can help you process your emotions and find solutions. If you’re unsure, an initial consultation can help determine if therapy is the right fit for you.

4. How long does therapy take?

The duration of therapy varies for each individual. Some people find relief in just a few sessions focused on specific concerns, while others may benefit from longer-term therapy to address deeper emotional or behavioral patterns. Your therapist will regularly review your progress and adjust the approach to best suit your needs and goals.

5. Will I need to attend therapy every week?

The frequency of therapy sessions depends on your individual needs and goals. While weekly sessions are often recommended for consistency and progress, we can adjust the schedule based on your availability, the nature of your concerns, and how you’re progressing. Some clients benefit from biweekly or monthly sessions once they develop coping strategies.

6. How will I know if therapy is working?

Therapy progress looks different for everyone. You may start noticing small but meaningful changes, such as feeling more in control of your emotions, improved relationships, better stress management, or gaining new perspectives on challenges. Over time, you may find yourself responding differently to situations that once felt overwhelming. Regular check-ins with your therapist can help track your progress and make adjustments as needed.

7. Do I pay for every session?

Yes, therapy sessions are charged on a per-session basis. We also offer package options for ongoing workshops, and corporate wellness programs. Payment details will be discussed during your first session, and we aim to keep our services accessible and transparent.

8. What is your cancellation policy?

We understand that schedules can change. If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, we request at least 24 hours’ notice to avoid a cancellation fee. The complete cancellation policy will be shared with you, at the time of booking your first appointment.

9. Is everything we discuss in therapy kept confidential?

Yes, confidentiality is a fundamental part of therapy. Everything you share remains private, except in specific situations where disclosure is legally or ethically required—such as if there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, or in cases involving abuse. Beyond these exceptions, your personal information and discussions are fully protected, ensuring a safe and trusting environment.

10. What if I don’t want to talk about something?

That’s completely okay. Therapy is a space where you have control over what you share and when. You don’t have to discuss anything you’re not ready for. Your therapist will respect your pace and provide gentle guidance when you feel comfortable exploring deeper topics.

11. Will what I say be documented? What happens to those records?

Therapists will take notes to track progress, identify patterns, and tailor treatment plans to your needs. These records are kept strictly confidential and stored securely in compliance with ethical and legal guidelines. They are never shared without your consent unless required by law in specific circumstances. If you have concerns about documentation, feel free to discuss them with your therapist.

12. Can therapy be done online, and is it effective?

Yes! We offer online therapy for those who prefer remote sessions. Online therapy is just as effective as in-person sessions and provides flexibility for those with busy schedules or who live outside Margao. We provide online sessions for clients from across the world.

13. Do you offer therapy for children and teenagers?

Yes, we provide therapy for children and adolescents, including play therapy and emotional support to help them navigate academic stress, behavioral challenges, and personal growth. These sessions are conducted by our child / adolescent psychologists.

14. Can I bring a friend or family member to my session?

If you feel more comfortable having someone with you, we can discuss this in advance. For couples or family therapy, sessions are designed to involve multiple participants, but for individual therapy, we encourage one-on-one discussions to maintain focus on your personal growth.

15. What if I start therapy and decide it’s not for me?

Therapy is a personal journey, and it’s okay if you feel it’s not the right fit. We encourage open communication, and if needed, we can explore alternative approaches or refer you to another professional who may better suit your needs.
